PrissPress

A blog to share my Early-onset Alzheimer's journey in an effort to offer a sense of community to others on the same journey and provide understanding to those supporting my journey.

About Teresa

Teresa is retired teacher of gifted children and live event artist living in Alabama. Growing up her family called her Priss and she attributes her love of hats and all things pink and girlie to their view of her as a “little prisspot”! While she ponders creating a book about her Granddog, Covi, Teresa enjoys gardening and visiting her son and daughter-in-law in the mountains.

This blog is an extension of her efforts to empower herself after her diagnosis with Early On-Set Alzheimers disease. Teresa is currently receiving the newly approved medication for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, specifically for patients with mild cognitive impairment or the mild dementia stage. Leqembi is designed to target and remove amyloid plaques in the brain, which are a hallmark of Alzheimer’s disease. Leqembi is an anti-amyloid monoclonal antibody and works by binding to aggregated forms of amyloid-beta protein. You can find more information about this drug at leqembi.com
